Charges laid in Airdrie RCMP Arson investigations


Airdrie, AB – On October 13th, 2015, the Airdrie RCMP received a tip regarding two suspicious males seen in the vicinity of a dumpster fire in downtown Airdrie. Police successfully located the males and following further investigation, the males were arrested relation to several arsons that occurred on October 12th, 2015, at the 2400 block of Ravenswood View SE, in Airdrie, Alberta.
Nickolas MASCHKE, 20, of Calgary, Alberta, was charged with two counts of arson and break and enter.  MASCHKE was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Airdrie Provincial Court on October 22nd, 2015.
Trevor BROWN, 20, of Airdrie, Alberta was also charged with two counts of arson and break and enter.  BROWN was released from custody and will appear in Airdrie Provincial Court on October 22nd, 2015.
The investigation continues into several other arsons that have occurred in Airdrie and the surrounding area.
