CALGARY, July 11, 2016 /CNW/ – The Calgary Parking Authority’s Yahoo Crew will be giving away FREE two-hour on-street parking sessions on Wednesday July 13 and Thursday July 14. The Yahoo Crew will be in the downtown core as well as Mission and Beltline areas between 11:30am and 2:30pm starting as many free parking sessions as possible.
“Stampede is a time when we all come together to enjoy this great city,” says CPA General Manager Mike Derbyshire. “The Yahoo Crew is our way of contributing to the stampede experience and we’re so excited to get out there and give away free parking.’
To qualify for the two hours of free parking, parkers either have to approach a member of the Yahoo Crew and ask for a free sessionPRIOR to making a parking payment or are randomly approached by a Yahoo Crew member.
This is the Yahoo Crew’s inaugural Stampede showing; the idea stemmed from our highly popular Holiday Parking Elves campaign that runs in December to promote shopping in and around Kensington and 4th Street SW.
About Us
The Calgary Parking Authority is a proud partner of The City of Calgary and is committed to managing publicly-owned on- and off-street parking facilities on The City’s behalf. In addition, we manage the municipal parking enforcement program and provide parking advisory services.
Every dollar we collect that exceeds our operational costs is returned to The City of Calgary. In 2015 we returned more than $29 million to the municipal general revenue program which funds projects such as recreation centres and pathways and provides funding for community services and public safety programs. The CPA operates without using any municipal tax revenues.
