C. Ian McLaren welomed a new staff member this January. Christine Bates is their new Youth Development Counselor. They will have two Youth Development Counselors at the school from now on. Miss Hall, one of the Youth Development Counselors is taking the next year off to go back to school. In the meantime, the school will be hiring a new temporary person to take her place.
As of January 5, 2015, all staff members were required to wear photo ID so that parents and students will know who is and is not working at the school. Parents who volunteer or guests who visit the school are required to sign in and will also have a volunteer ID to wear as well. This is an initiative of superintendent John Bailey and is a requirement in all Foothills School Division schools.
In addition to this, school administration ask that if you or someone else is picking up your child during school hours for an appointment, to please go to the office and sign them out. This helps staff keep track of your children in the school for lockdown and fire drills.
