Bid on a Horse at Spruce Meadows and Support Literacy for Life in High River

Lit for Life - Leg Up for Charity horseWell, it’s not a real horse so you don’t have to worry about feed. This horse is one of the painted horses up for auction in the 2nd annual Horses Jump to Give a Leg Up fundraiser.

Charities from Calgary and area are invited to paint a fiberglass horse to reflect what they stand for. The horses were presented in early June during Spruce Meadows’ Nationals Tournament. The auction is open now until the Masters Tournament that is held September 9th to 13th. Each charity keeps the proceeds that their horse raises in the auction and one lucky bidder gets a unique piece of art.

This is the second year that Literacy for Life has been invited to take part in this unique fundraiser. Their horse this year features river rocks, starting out small and growing just as we grow as we learn. Read more about the design by Nicole Levesque.
