Black Diamond and Turner Valley ~ Fire Ban


 

Today, May 4th, 2016 both the Towns of Black Diamond and Turner Valley put a Fire Ban into effect.

The following statement was posted on the Town of Black Diamond’s website:

Tour_of_Alberta_Black_Diamond-e1404919981961.jpgA Fire Ban was issued on May 4, 2016 by the Fire Chief in the Town of Black Diamond, and will remain in effect until substantial moisture, and approval, is received to lift the fire ban.

This Fire Ban includes all fireworks and outdoor fires.

Due to the current fire conditions, and availability of resources throughout the province, a fire ban has been implemented for the town of Turner Valley. There is a burning ban on all open fires including fire pits and burning barrels in Turner Valley. All open fires are to be extinguished and any open burning permits cancelled. This ban will be in effect until further notice.

Black Diamond and the MD of Foothills also have fire bans in effect.
