Last Friday, a very important announcement was made by Black Diamond’s Mayor, Sharlene Brown and the FCSS Committee. Black Diamond has been awarded the opportunity to participate in a leadership training program.
Here’s the scoop:
The BECOMING A COMMUNITY BUILDER initiative has been launched to grow Community Leadership Capacity in Rural Alberta.
What is Community Leadership Capacity? Leadership excellence of both formal and informal leaders spanning all sectors, within all silos, of all stakeholder groups, at all levels of a Community.
The initiative is designed and facilitated by IAN HILL, award winning Change Agent, Business Leader and one of North America’s foremost Community Builders. In 2012, the program was beta-tested in partnership with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, engaging 1053 citizens with outstanding results.
Nominations to become a Lighthouse Community for this program were sifted through and even though more nominations were received than awards available, Black Diamond was successful in receiving one of the awards.
Our entire community, from Millarville down to Longview and all points in between, are invited to sign up for this exciting initiative.
Individuals, groups, committees, businesses, in short ANYONE, is urged to sign up for this program which is delivered in the privacy of your own home or office, completely FREE of charge via the web.
