Big Rock Gr. 3 Student Using Okotoks Lemonade Day to Battle Cancer

Makayla Hinton, a Gr. 3 student at Big Rock School, will be operating one of the stands at Okotoks 1st Lemonade Day on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Her profits will be donated to Kids Cancer Care.

Lemonade Day is a popular initiative in the U.S. and Okotoks is the first city in Canada to organize this event.

Each child must have a business plan and license to run a stand. There will be lemonade stands set up all over Okotoks on that day.

To support Makayla’s efforts, look for her lemonade stand in Okotoks this Saturday, June 13th or contact Big Rock School at 403-938-6666.

On June 19th, Makayla will also be cutting off most of her hair and donating it to Angel Hair for Kids. The organization provides wigs and hair loss solutions to financially disadvantaged children in Canada who have lost their hair due to a medical condition or treatment.
