AUMA Congratulates New Cabinet

AUMA congratulates new cabinet; looks forward to working together

AUMA congratulated the new Premier of Alberta and all those appointed to the new provincial cabinet on Monday, September 15th.

“We look forward to working together, as we continue advancing the quality of life that Albertans have come to expect from their elected officials,” said Helen Rice, AUMA President.

“A new political landscape in our province will open up new opportunities to work together, ensuring Alberta’s cities, towns and villages continue to thrive.”

We are particularly pleased with the appointment of The Hon. Diana McQueen, MLA, as Minister of Municipal Affairs. Her extensive background in local government gives her a rich understanding of municipalities and the challenges they face. We look forward to continuing work on revisions to the MGA to ensure municipalities receive the recognition required to deliver the services citizens expect.

AUMA looks forward to Government Day, Thursday, September 25, at its Annual Convention, and hosting the new Premier and Cabinet at that time.

Thanks are expressed to outgoing premier and cabinet. “We appreciate all of the support provided to the AUMA and wish all outgoing officials the best in their future endeavours,” Rice said.
