Edmonton — ATB Financial has made a disaster relief program available to all of its customers affected by the devastating wildfire in the Fort McMurray area. Depending on the customer’s circumstances, ATB will offer emergency overdraft protection, increased credit limits and loan payment deferrals if needed.
“We’ve all seen the TV footage and photos from Fort McMurray and it is a catastrophic situation,” said Rob Bennett, ATB’s Executive Vice-President, Retail Financial Services. “We have customers and team members who have been evacuated and may, in fact, lose their homes. We’ll provide them with the best support we can.”
ATB encourages all customers affected by the wildfire to call our Customer Care Centre at 1-800-332-8383 to go over their individual situations with our team members, so we can provide the best solutions quickly. Customers affected are also welcome to ask questions in person at any ATB branch outside of Fort McMurray. Efforts are also being made to deploy mobile automated banking machines at evacuation sites and staging centres.
ATB will also reach out to business customers affected by the disaster to offer whatever support may be needed.
All 32 ATB team members who live and work in Fort McMurray are safe and accounted for. ATB is providing financial support to help them get through what is a very difficult time.
ATB has also made a $25,000 donation to the Red Cross relief efforts and will continue to monitor the situation and offer help where needed.
