ASIRT Investigation Results in Charges Against RCMP

Edmonton, Alberta– Constable Stephen Hudson of the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP Detachment now faces numerous criminal charges related to off-duty firearms offences. The charges are the result of an Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) investigation.

On April 22, 2015, the RCMP became aware of an allegation of firearms offences and immediately contacted the provincial Director of Law Enforcement who then directed ASIRT to investigate.

Cst. Hudson joined the RCMP in 2009. He has been suspended with pay, and his duty status will be subject to review. This is standard RCMP procedure and not a disciplinary measure.
