Art Competition Winners at Canadian Junior Angus Showdown in Olds, Alberta Announced


CJAA showdown 2015ROCKY VIEW COUNTY, AB – The Canadian Junior Angus Association is pleased to announce the winners of the Showdown 2015 Art Competition. Awards were presented at the banquet on July 18th in Olds, Alberta.

At Showdown there are 15 different competitions that Juniors can enter. Juniors that choose to compete in the Art competition, prepare a piece of art at home and bring it to Showdown for judging. The pieces of art vary from drawn pictures to welding projects. They are judged according to their uniqueness, quality, and beauty.

In the Junior division (ages 9-12), champion went to Brynne Yoder from Barrhead, AB and reserve went to Lilly Howell of Penhold, AB.

The intermediate division (ages 13-16) was won by Wade Olynyk of Goodeve, SK and Chris Jermey from Ashern, MB took home reserve champion.

In the senior division (ages 17-21), Becky Domolewski from Taber, AB and Ty Schwan; Swift Current, SK were grand and reserve champion respectively.

The Canadian Junior Angus Association is a group of Angus enthusiasts under the age of 21. Showdown is an annual summer cattle show organized by the Canadian Junior Angus Association. It rotates to provinces throughout the country every July. This year there were 118 participants that took part in Showdown in Olds, Alberta.
