Annual Pumpkin Patch Quilt Show and Tea

The Griffith Centre in Black Diamond is once again hosting a beautiful showing of quilts and serving up tea. Drop by on Saturday, October 18th from 1 to 4pm to take in this event. There will also be door prizes for some lucky attendees!

Pictured here are two quilts from last year’s show. One of the organizers, Elinor Melnyk, told us that both these quilts went to the Children’s Hospital, Psychiatric Ward, in Calgary. Children in the hospital are shown three quilts and given a choice at one to keep. For some children it is the first time they have had something that is theirs alone. Doesn’t that give you a nice warm feeling?

Warm up with some tea and quilts at the Griffith’s Centre on October 18th. You can find the Centre at 122 Government Road, South.

In other years our quilt guild has made a journey to the Pumpkin Patch Quilt Show. I am working on the calendar for 2016 and can’t find any dates. Do you know when the tea and show will be?

You can try contacting the Griffiths Centre at 403-933-2167. There is nothing showing on their website yet but maybe closer to the date we’ll hear something. Their website is http://www.griffithscentre.ca.
