Calgary, AB – On Sunday, May 24, 2015, Between Friends will present an elegant new occasion for all to enjoy. This fundraising event will have the makings of a classic 19th Century Tea along with some wonderful modern day activities. This Alice in Wonderland Garden Party themed event will be hosted by Jill Belland of Breakfast Television and will feature Kodette LaBarbera as seen on W Network’s Hockey Wives.
Kodette LaBarbera was born in Arizona, but was raised in Nelson, British Columbia. She is married to Professional Goaltender, Jason LaBarbera, and has two sons. Despite the fact that Jason is based out of Anaheim, Kodette resides in Calgary with her two boys. Her eldest son, 
Ryder, was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 3 and the pair decided to be apart this hockey season to ensure that Ryder could remain in a familiar place and stay in the therapy program in which he is thriving. In addition to being a wife and mom of two, Kodette is an Autism Awareness Activist and Philanthropist and Between Friends is thrilled to have her join us as the keynote speaker at An Afternoon Tea Between Friends.
All funds raised at this event, including ticket sales, go to the efforts and programs of Between Friends, a charitable organization that creates opportunities for people with disabilities to connect, grow and belong through quality social, recreation and self-development activities. Through our programs, we endeavor to enrich self-esteem, quality of life, and mental and physical health and increase the community’s awareness of their fellow citizens with disabilities. Between Friends has more than 650 members who represent 59 different disability groups.
