Alberta’s flags at half-staff to honour Lahore victims

Flags at the Alberta Legislature and Calgary’s McDougall Centre lowered until further notice.

The decision commemorates the 69 victims of the attack in Lahore, Pakistan, on March 27, 2016.

“It is with deep sadness that Alberta joins the world in mourning all the victims of the Easter Sunday bombing.

“We unite with the global community in condemning this horrific and deliberate act that has caused such suffering to families in Lahore, across Pakistan and around the globe, including right here at home. Albertans of every heritage share in the shock and grief.

“Our thoughts are with the families of the victims as we wish a speedy recovery for the more than 340 who were wounded.”

~ Rachel Notley, Premier
