Alberta Wildfires Force Evacuations

1. Critical Alert: Parkland County – West of Edmonton
A mandatory evacuation alert is issued for residents of the Hamlet of Duffield and the Duffield Downs subdivision. Parkland County is also issuing a prepare-to-evacuate alert for residents of Clear Lake and Spruce Ridge Estates. Residents of Clear Lake should prepare to evacuate with 10 minutes notice. Residents of Spruce Ridge Estates should prepare for one hour notice.

Avoid Range Road 32 South of Twp 530A as it is closed to incoming traffic. Residents of the Hamlet of Duffield and Duffield Downs subdivision must evacuate. Follow the directions of local authorities. Take all necessary precautions. Evacuate to the reception centre at Manly Hall (2320 Hwy 16 at Range Road 23).
2. Information Alert: Wabamun Reserve #133 A, Wabamun Reserve #133 B
A wildfire has resulted in evacuations within the Paul First Nation. As a precaution, the First Nation is advising all residents and visitors that they may need to leave the area with little notice.
 Instructions:
An Evacuation Centre is open at the Ironhead Golf Course Clubhouse, Wabamun. The Paul First Nation School will be closed on Tuesday April 19. Extreme caution should be used while driving in the area.
