Alberta Emerald Foundation: February Youth Environmental Engagement Grant Recipients


 

Through the generous support of our program sponsor, ConocoPhillips Canada, and other sponsors and individual donors, The Alberta Emerald Foundation is able to inspire Alberta’s next generation of eco-heroes by supporting projects that elevate environmental awareness in a meaningful way. The Alberta Emerald Foundation intends to allocate over 100 Youth Environmental Engagement Grants this year.

We’re pleased to announce our February recipients:

Argyll Centre, Edmonton

Junglefy a Classroom & Earthbox Garden Program

Argyll Centre will be making their classrooms more green through these two engaging indoor gardening projects.

Coalhurst Elementary School

Scientists in Schools Workshops

The entire student body at Coalhurst Elementary will be participating in various science and environmental activities that incorporate fun and imagination with learning.

Coalhurst High School

High School Wildlife Program

The students at both the Junior and Senior levels will be involved in various outdoor sporting activities like camping, canoeing, kayaking and outdoor cooking, developing a long-lasting appreciation for the environment.

Bon Accord Community School

Bon Accord Outdoor Classroom

The students of Bon Accord Community School are creating an outdoor learning space so they can study in the fresh air. Beautifying projects include raised garden beds and a shaded seating area.
