Strathmore, AB – At approximately 11:00pm on Tuesday April 19th the Strathmore RCMP responded to a two vehicle motor vehicle collision on Highway 797 south of Langdon.
The driver of one vehicle has been transported to a Calgary area hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the other involved vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The vehicle drivers were the lone occupants of both vehicles.
Highway 797 is currently closed in both directions south of Langdon between Highway 22X and Langdon and will remain closed for the next few hours while police continue their investigation.
A Collision Analyst is en route to the scene. The cause of the collision has yet to be determined.
The names of the victims are not being released as police are still in the process of locating the victims’ families.
