The Drugs, Trends & Teens parent session, that Foothills School Division is hosting, will be held at École Secondaire Foothills Composite High School/Alberta High School of Fine Arts (229 Woodhaven Dr, Okotoks) on Tuesday, March 15th at 7pm. This free session is open to parents and guardians throughout the Foothills – both from within and outside the school division.
Presenters are Jason Neufeld and Judy Walbridge, Addictions Councillors with Alberta Health Services (Rural Addiction and Mental Health).
This session will cover:
- basic drug information
- the process of addiction
- some recent trends in adolescent drug use
- risk and protective factors
- ideas for parents on how to talk to their kids about drugs
