Director George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road walked away with the six awards at the 2016 Oscars, the most of any film by far. It received a total of 10 nominations, and despite losing out in the Best Picture category toSpotlight, Mad Max: Fury Road was clearly a favorite among Oscar voters.
Stars Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy were both in attendance at the 2016 Academy Awards. Theron, who plays Imperator Furiosa, presented the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, the first award of the evening. Hardy was nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role inThe Revenant, which took home three awards, including the first Oscar forLeonardo DiCaprio.
