So many talented youngsters in Southern Alberta!

Who can be an entrant in the Festival?
Any amateur student (or groups) of music or speech, of any age! We have classes for all categories and ages. Our festival uses the Alberta Music Festivals Association Syllabus (, along with a few additions of local classes. Please consult the syllabus for information regarding each specific class, as they all have different criteria and requirements.

Our mission is to promote music and speech art performance by students and enthusiasts within our district. We do so by producing the Highwood Lions Music Festival.

Our festival is a high-quality festival, providing entrants with valuable performance experience, and employing highly qualified musician teachers as our adjudicators.

Our festival would absolutely not be possible without the generous support provided by the Highwood Lions Club. In addition to their generous financial support, businesses, teachers, residents, and grants from the Province of Alberta are the key financial ways our festival is supported.
