Singer/Songwriter Lucas Chaisson was excited to learn this week that he has received a 2015 WCMA nomination for “Roots Solo Recording of the Year”.
Lucas’ recently released his new recording, Telling Time, which made its debut at #2 on the CKUA Charts and has remained on the Top 30.
Produced by Grammy winner Colin Linden, Telling Time highlights Lucas’ strong songwriting, and very distinctive vocal delivery. Combining a seamless blend of folk, roots, blues and country flavors throughout, Telling Time has a Canadiana feel with an Americana sound. This recording illustrates Lucas’ unique sound and features the versatility of his tasteful guitar stylings filled with texture and dynamics.
“This nomination means a great deal to me. I put a lot into this record, and it is an incredible feeling to be recognized by my peers. This nomination validates all the efforts that both I and my team have been putting in, especially over this past year,” said Lucas.
The strong songwriting showcased on his recordings, and his ability to make an emotional connection with his audience has garnered him the opportunity to play high profile venues such as the Edmonton, Calgary, Canmore, Vancouver Island and Winnipeg Folk Festivals. These strong showings have also led to performances at The Epcor Center for the Performing Arts, the Arden Theatre and numerous Folk Clubs and soft seat venues across Western Canada.
