EDMONTON, AB (April 25, 2016): Today, Wildrose Shadow Finance Minister Derek Fildebrandt released the following statement in response to NDP Finance Minister Joe Ceci travelling to speak with credit agencies:
“Travelling to New York and Toronto will do nothing to restore Alberta’s plunging credit rating. Only demonstrating fiscal responsibility with a clear plan to control spending and balance the budget will restore Alberta’s credibility with lenders.
“Wildrose released a plan to reduce Alberta’s spending by $2 billion this year alone and a series of recommendations to grow our economy. The minister should spend more time working on implementing this type of fiscal restraint and end his government’s plan to scrap its own legislated borrowing limit.”
