RCMP / Fort Macleod/ STARS Dispatch for Accidental Firearm Discharge
Fort Macleod Alberta – On April 13, 2016 at approximately 2:15 pm, Fort Macleod RCMP and Fort Macleod Emergency Services responded to an accidental firearm discharge on Beaver Creek Road, north west of Fort Macleod. A 52-year old male from Lethbridge, Alberta was on Crown land in the area hunting, when he accidentally shot himself while attempting to load his 22-calibre firearm. The male was able to get himself to a nearby road and was then further assisted by a passing motorist. STARS Air Ambulance attended and he was transported to Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta in serious but stable condition.
No further releases will be completed.

RCMP Airdrie – Residential Fire
Airdrie, Alberta- On April 13, 2016 at around 11:30PM Airdrie RCMP and Airdrie Fire Department attended the Silver Springs area for a residential fire. The fire was quickly contained and nobody was injured. One residence sustained significant damage.
A Fire investigator attended the scene and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

RCMP Cochrane Det – Located missing 7 year old in Morley, AB
Cochrane RCMP are advising that the missing 7 year old child in Morley, AB along with his dog, have been located alive and well.
At approximately 7:25 pm, the mother of a 7 year old boy reported that sometime after 5:30 pm her son had gone missing while playing in his yard in Morley, Alberta sometime. The boy and the family dog had disappeared from the yard which is a fairly remote residence surrounded by forest. Police Dog Services and K Division Air Support Services Unit, along with Cochrane RCMP, Cochrane General Investigation Section, Canmore RCMP and Morley Security had all been deployed in the search.
