Longview Library News: Plan Your Summer Now

lady reading in a gardenThe summer months will soon be here, which means long hours of lazy reading in a cool spot. The library has lots of books on gardening, bar-b-queing, hiking and recipes for cool summer meals.  We also have books on wildflowers, birdwatching and summer travel. We have 3 gardening publications: Garden’s West, Alberta Gardener and The Gardener.

In June, we will be having a “2016 Travel Alberta Book Display,” which will include books written by Alberta’s authors. They can be circulated as well, but only for the month of June.

There are 2 remaining Story Time Play Dates, one on April 12th and one on April 26th. Both are on Tuesdays and at 2pm.
We are very grateful to those of you who have donated DVDs to our collection. We would appreciate any more that you might have.

I have always been amazed by the number of very competent Canadian authors there are. I have just become aware of many Australian authors making their way across the ocean. Ones that I have read recently are Kimberley Freeman, Joan Clark, Shayne Parkinson and Liane Morarity. Give them  a try and see what you think.

New non-fiction in the library are: My Name is Mahtob by Mahtob Mahoomdy, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying by Marie Kondo, This is Happy: a memoir by Camilla Gibb, Pure Soap Making and When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalantigh.

Happy Reading
