RCMP Banff Seeks Public’s Help to Identify Assault Suspect- Update#1
Banff RCMP have been identify the suspect and have laid a charge in connection to the Assault in Banff on March 2.
Brian LAFRENIERE, a 26 year old male of Belle River, ON, has been charged with the following:
- One Count of Assault Causing Bodily Harm
A Warrant of Arrest for the Province of Alberta has been issued.
Banff RCMP would like to thank both the residents of the Bow Valley and the media for their assistance with the identification of this person.
Original Release March 2, 2016 at 1:15 p.m.
On March 2nd, 2016, at approximately 1:41 a.m., Banff RCMP received a complaint of an assault in the west alley of the 200 Block of Banff Avenue in the Town of Banff. It’s alleged that an altercation between the Victim and the unknown suspect occurred. The suspect then fled the scene Northbound up the alley towards Wolf Street. The Victim required medical attention and was taken to the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital.
Surveillance footage was obtained which helped Police identify a suspect by an independent witness.
The suspect is described as:
- Caucasian;
- Approximately 173cm (5’8”) tall;
- Brown Hair;
- Short facial hair;
- Wearing a Blue and White Hoodie;
- Wearing khaki pants;
- Speaks with French Accent.
Banff RCMP continue to investigate the crime.
