Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.
An approaching upper disturbance will spread strong westerly winds across Alberta today. The winds are expected to reach warning level strength along the foothills in the Alberta elbow and over southwestern regions. Westerly winds of 80 gusting 100 km/h are possible today in the southwest while further north winds may reach 70 gusting 90 km/h Central Alberta including the City of Edmonton.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.
