Recycling Roundup
Just in time for fall cleanup you can bring your old computers, TV, paint etc to the Black Diamond or Priddis Transfer stations on Sept 24th for recycling.
FLOOD SCOPING STUDIES
For those in Division 2 north of Black Diamond, a flood report has also been completed and the province has agreed that some properties in the area should be bought out. The MD staff will be contacting residents once details have been finalized. The full report can be found on the MD website under Services/Flood Recovery Erosion Control Program (FREC)
Surface Rights Payments
A meeting was organized in Cayley to address ongoing concerns regarding past due surface lease payments. The Surface Rights Board was in attendance and has agreed to assist affected land owners with trying to recoup payment. The MD of Foothills along with many other municipalities across the province are experiencing tax arrears in the millions from Oil & Gas Companies, that will cause serious budget shortages if they are not paid within the fiscal year.
TAXES
Just a reminder that taxes are due Sept 30th but if you pay by installments you can save 5% and if you prepay early, the savings are 6%. Please make sure your mailing information is correct as it effects all communication from the MD of Foothills.
East Longview Corners
The new corners have been completed on Coal Trail so watch for the new entrance to the Hall.
