EDMONTON, AB: Wildrose Shadow Education Minister Mark Smith released the following statement on an interim injunction being granted by a judge for Trinity Christian School that will allow it to temporarily stay open:
“For days now I’ve been telling Minister Eggen that he was wrong to close Trinity Christian School just two months into the school year, especially without an adequate transition plan for students and parents.
“Instead of taking less extreme measures to deal with alleged financial mismanagement, the Minister unilaterally threw the lives of 3,500 students and their parents into chaos, and this was the wrong approach.
“The NDP has mismanaged this issue from the beginning, and now could be facing a complicated legal battle.
“Wildrose continues to stand on the side of families who want a common sense resolution to this matter so that students can be educated without distractions.”
