RCMP South Major Crime Unit Charge Man with Manslaughter

Stand Off, Alberta – In cooperation with the Blood Tribe Police Service, the RCMP have arrested and charged 42-year-old Jimmy Bad Man with manslaughter in the death of Sara-Jean Big Sorrel Horse** of the Blood First Nation.

On June 27, 2015 at 11:30 a.m., the Blood Tribe Police Service launched an investigation following a call to service of an unresponsive female.  The female was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced deceased.  As a result of an autopsy which indicated that the cause of her death was homicide, the RCMP South Major Crime Unit was asked to assist the Blood Tribe Police Service and took carriage of the investigation.

Following a lengthy and complex investigation, on February 3, 2017 Jimmy BAD MAN was arrested for Manslaughter.

An unrelated investigation stemming from an assault in Cardston on January 27, 2017, resulted in a further charge of aggravated assault against Bad Man.

Jimmy Bad Man has been remanded in custody and is scheduled for a first court appearance on February 6, 2017 in the Provincial Court of Alberta in Lethbridge.
