Cochrane RCMP are reporting that in the early morning of the 9th of November 2016 a male was involved in a pedestrian versus motor vehicle collision at the intersection of the Trans Canada Highway and Hwy 22 near Cochrane, AB.
Just after midnight Cochrane RCMP received a report of a traffic fatality involving a pedestrian on Hwy 1 near the intersection of Highway 22. RCMP attended and discovered a male adult had been struck by an eastbound vehicle. The male was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS. Highway 1 was shut down for approximately 5 hours while the Collision Investigation Team investigated. The investigation into the dynamics of the collision continues. Identity of the male is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
