RCMP Canmore Investigates Home Invasion and Robbery, Suspect sought

On October 20, 2016 at 10:53am, Canmore RCMP responded to a Home invasion and Robbery in Exshaw. At approximately 10:45 a.m., an unknown male knocked on the door of a residence in Exshaw. The homeowner answered the door and the suspect forced his way inside, producing an edged weapon. The suspect then robbed the victim of personal property. The suspect fled in a Dark Grey Toyota Rav4 he stole from the residence in an unknown direction of travel.

The homeowner was not physically injured in the incident.

Canmore RCMP received assistance from Cochrane RCMP, Calgary RCMP Police Dog Services and Calgary Police Service. The stolen Toyota Rav4 was later located in a rural area North of the Morley townsite by Cochrane RCMP. The suspect was not located at that time.

The suspect is described as:

  • Native Male;
  • 175cms (5’9”) to 178cms (5’10”);
  • Average build;
  • Short dark black hair;
  • Brown eyes;
  • Clean shaven;
  • Wearing a black oversized hoodie with white markings;
  • Baggy blue jeans;
  • Black running shoes.


The investigation into this matter is still continuing with assistance from Calgary RCMP Forensic Identification Section.
