Pitt Statement on 24-Hour Urgent Care for Airdrie

AIRDRIE, AB (September 14, 2016): Today, Wildrose Airdrie MLA Angela Pitt released the following statement after the government announced Airdrie’s urgent care centre will soon be offering 24-hour medical services:

“Airdrie is one of the fastest growing cities in the province and has long deserved the comfort of local 24-hour medical services that is there for families when they need it. Wildrose has proudly and repeatedly pressed the government for support of 24-hour care in our city as a step towards meeting the health care needs of the people of Airdrie.

“I want to thank our hard working front-line health care workers and community representatives who have made today’s announcement a possibility. When meeting with the minister about this issue, I often spoke of the incredible collaborative approach our community has demonstrated from the very beginning. It’s a good first step for our city.

“However, the current facility remains unable to provide the full spectrum of health care needs that our community requires. I will continue to advocate for a new upgraded emergency facility and will encourage the government to move in this direction.”
