The Healthy Okotoks Coalition (HOC) is a group of citizens focused on making Okotoks a healthy community to live, play and work. The HOC, along with the help of local gardeners, has operated and maintained the Community Garden using volunteers.
On September 21st, the HOC, along with volunteers from Stantec, had a working bee to expand the community garden. An additional 21 garden plots were added to the original community garden’s 35 plots, to bring the total number of plots to 56.
Another work bee is planned for the spring to compete the fencing and a garden space for the Okotoks Food Bank and schools.
Wait lists for garden plots will be taken in early spring and current plot holders and volunteers will have priority.
