November 30 is ‘United for High River Day’

HIGH RIVER, AB: Town of High River Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is pleased to announce that the local McDonald’s restaurant has offered to host a fundraiser on Wednesday, Nov. 30 that will benefit the United Way/FCSS High River partnership.

‘United for High River Day’ will feature local celebrities who are invited to work short shift at the High River McDonald’s located at 1201 16 Street S.E.  A portion of sales for the day will be donated to the United Way and patrons of the restaurant are welcome to make additional donations.

“All proceeds from the event will be used to fund our local agencies and organizations,” says Shelley Koot, community support services manager with the Town.  “Every dollar raised in High River, stays in High River.”

Residents and visitors who stop by to support the cause will catch a glimpse of local Town and Agency representatives who have volunteered to work at the front counter and/or the drive-thru with McDonald’s staff.

“This is a great initiative and we are really excited for this event,” adds Koot. “We are very thankful to our High River and Okotoks McDonald’s who have offered to host this event.”
