HIGH RIVER, AB: Filming of the upcoming TV drama ‘Tin Star’ will resume in High River on Tuesday, Sept. 20 and crews will be in town until Thursday, Sept. 22. Heartland film crews will also return to High River on Thursday, September 22 and will be in the downtown area until the evening of Monday, September 26.
Production crews will be parking in the gravel lot off the alley between 4 and 3 Avenue S.W and in lots located at 128/130 4 Avenue S.W. and 135 MacLeod Trail S.W. Please note that all crew vehicles will be removed over the weekend to provide space for the River City Classics Show ‘n’ Shine taking place in Downtown High River.
Tin Star filming will take place starting Tuesday Sept 20, inside and outside of 111 3 Avenue S.W. and inside Bay 1 of Emerson Lane Mall. There will be a road closure on Thursday, Sept. 22 on 3 Avenue S.W. from 1 Street S.W. to Macleod Trail S.W. Crews will also perform Intermittent traffic control on Thursday, Sept. 22 throughout the day on Macleod Trail S.W. at 3 Avenue S.W.
The majority of Heartland filming will take place inside of the ‘Maggie’s Diner’ set from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23 and Monday, Sept. 26. There may be some very minor parking restrictions and traffic control required on 3 Avenue S.W. and one scene will be filmed outside in front of Evelyn’s Diner on 4 Avenue S.W. Friday evening.

‘Tin Star’ is produced by Kudos Film and Television and was created by acclaimed British director and screenwriter Rowan Joffe. The show is described as ‘an epic tale of deception, betrayal, murder and revenge set against the backdrop of remote and beautiful Canadian mountain town.’ The series will star Tim Roth; who is known for his roles in ‘The Hateful Eight,’ ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Reservoir Dogs’ and Christina Hendricks; known for her roles in ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Drive.’
Heartland is a long running, multi-generational saga about a family getting through life together in both happy and trying times. Set against the magnificent backdrop of the foothills of southern Alberta, Heartland is filmed in High River as well as on nearby private-property locations and on a studio set in Calgary.
