City of Calgary and MD of Foothills Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP) Update

High River, AB:   The City of Calgary and the MD of Foothills will be presenting changes made to the Calgary Foothills IDP project at an Open House this Thursday, October 27.

Based on public feedback received at the last open house held on March 2, 2016, and additional analysis of identified issues, the MD of Foothills and City of Calgary are proposing updates to the growth area and policy originally proposed for the plan. Residents are invited to attend the open house and provide comments on the proposed changes.

We have had excellent turn-outs at the three previous open houses about this IDP and have appreciated hearing people’s comments and concerns”, said Julie McLean, Senior Planner. “We are looking forward to sharing the proposed changes with residents as we believe that they address a number of the concerns that we heard at the previous events.”

The Open House for the City of Calgary and MD of Foothills Intermunicipal Development Plan is this Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Dewinton Community Hall.

This Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP) is a land use planning tool that the City of Calgary and the MD of Foothills are using to manage planning-related issues for the area of land in close proximity to the shared boundary.
