Banff RCMP Identify Body Found in the Bow River

UPDATE 1: Banff RCMP investigate deceased male found in Bow River

Banff, Alberta – The deceased male who was located in the Bow River in Banff on Monday, November 14 has been identified as 58 year-old Michel Lemire* from Trois Rivieres, Quebec.

An autopsy was completed by the Calgary Medical Examiner’s office on Tuesday. The findings of the autopsy are not being released at this time.

Banff RCMP, with assistance of the RCMP Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Michel Lemire.  Police are asking anyone who came into contact with Michel Lemire on the night of Sunday November 13 to contact police.  Investigators are also interested in speaking with a male witness who may have been in the area of the Banff Avenue bridge and the YWCA wearing a yellow snowboard jacket around 11:30 p.m on November 13, 2016.
