As President of the Alberta Liberal Party I want to express my concern about the allegations made by PC MLA Sandra Jansen regarding bullying and harassment surrounding her bid for the PC Leadership.
The mistreatment and intimidation of women involved in the political process is unfortunately a common occurrence both at home and abroad and is a symptom of broader societal issues which we must continue to address.
Regardless of race, gender, creed, or sexual orientation, the Alberta Liberals believe all people are entitled to freedom and respect. Our party is proud to provide a supportive and safe environment for women to participate in the political process. We remain steadfastly committed to the ideal of equal opportunity, and working together to ensure that politics is a welcoming place for all.
